It was foggy early this morning with frost on the ground. So we were so glad to be able to snuggle up in bed all warm and cosy, knowing that we had no need to venture out in the cold, dark morning. In fact, we have not needed our alarm clocks since we successfully escaped from the rat race. When we did eventually stir, we were able to go out for a walk along the river in bright sunshine, watching the mist rise from the water, the kingfisher painted bright in the sunlight, and to feel the freshness of the air in our lungs.
It is true that some people may have much more than us materially, but they probably work long hours to finance the large house, the car with vroom, and even holidays to exotic climes. But there is a lot to be said for enjoying the simple things in life, like snuggling in a warm bed without the sound of an alarm clock :)
